Mavala - 170 Touch of Provence + Kiko - 228 Trasparente Microglitter

This is the second and last august swatch I was forgetting about! This is a drugstore/pharmacy purchase. I go there for my meds (my health sucks) and I always take a look to IsaDoras and Mavalas. Mavala polishes are not so cheap in Italy, their price changes from store to store, but they cost more or less 5 euros for 5 ml. In my favorite chemist's shop, where works "THE NICE LADY" (more info about her here), Mavala mini polishes cost 5 euros each, but there is the 5x4 and you can buy 5 of them for 20 euros. If you are interested about it, feel free to contact me for a CP or a swap! ;D

● MAVALA - 170 TOUCH OF PROVENCE
I think Mavala is a great brand, It's expensive, I know, but the quality of their products is always on high level. Polishes make no difference to this rule. This is a lilac cream with pink tones into it and with a subtle effect I can't say if it's shimmer or pearl, because it's really barely. Application was good, nothing more, but the duration was something exceptional: almost one entire week with NO chipping, even the smallest. I was impressed! Another recommended enamel! ^__^
● KIKO - 228 SPARKLE TOUCH TRASPARENTE MICROGLITTER
A friend of mine gave me this top coat as a gift. It seems anonymous at first sight, because it has a subtle silver/white microglitter, almost imperceptible. It's wrong. It's delicate and discreet, but classy if you mix it with right colors like this one. Really happy about this gift, thank you Tammy! ♥

A fruitful afternoon! *__*

Some months ago I found the blog of Chloe and I fell in love with scotch tape technique, then... Few days ago... I discovered the "scotch tape technique 2.0", on Nailside. This girl is my weekly/monthly/annual/indefinitely idol, my newest muse, my recent illumination! She's creative and still simple, original but not excessive, and I guess I'll steal a lot of ideas from her, changing colors or something or who-knows... The first one is this mani, a mix of what she calls "laser mani" and "mummy mani", and, if you want to try, here there are her tutorials. Have fun like me!!! Thank you Jane! ;D
P.S. off topic: first of all I should change this standard layout... I'm so lazy recently... -__-

I used a lot of polishes, you can find each of them in the list below. For any single finger I wrote as first the base, and the top polish as second one.

Nail Art: Harry Potter contest on Nailswatches

Last summer I have tried to join a nailart contest. Ok, I'm not so good, I am a real newbie of mani, but the contest was fun for me, since I love Harry Potter saga and the contest was dedicated to it!
The blogger who launched idea was Nailswatches, an amazing dutch blogger!
I was very excited for this contest and I had a lot of ideas, but my poor skills limited me... One day finally the trick to increasing quality: STICKERS! Tricks are good, but they have to be original and selfmade for a contest, I think, sooooo I made stickers by myself. The result is a bit creepy, but I'm pretty proud anyway: it took me a long time, but it was funny too, and... Incredible... I won! :D

POLISHES
I choose the colors of every single house of Hogwarts for every single finger, more a second lighter and glittery/frosty color to brightening: green and silver for Slytherin, burgundy and gold for Gryffindor, blue and silver for Ravenclaw, and black and gold for Hufflepuff. Pinkie wears the 4 colors of Hogwarts with a black background.
STICKERS
Decals are the 4 "shields" of the 4 houses. They are printed on adhesive paper in high quality, but the camera catches everything more unfocused than the real ones. Than I cut them and press on the nails. Simple!
● BRUSHES & ACCESSORIES
I don't know technical names for accessories, but the first photo shows you everything. I used angolar brush for tips, the tiny one for foil stripes and the round brush for clean up. Everything else is easy to imagine what is served for. :P
