DISCONTINUED DAY #2 ESSENCE - from TE Fruity + 50's Girls Reloaded

ENG: here we are with a new Discontinued Day, the monthly twinsie post dedicated to nail polishes or makeup that are no more available in stores. In this second post I'm going on with two other Trend Editions by Essence: two shades from the collection Fruity (april 2012, I've already swatched One Kiwi a Day  in the past, you can find the post here) and one from 50's Girls Reloaded (july/august 2011).

ITA: eccoci ad un altro Discontinued Day, la giornata del mese dedicata agli smalti o al makeup "discontinued", ovvero i prodotti ormai irreperibili perchè provenienti da vecchie edizioni limitate o perchè tolti dal commercio per svariati motivi. In questo secondo appuntamento continuo con altre due Trend Edition di Essence: due smalti dalla collezione Fruity (di aprile 2012, di cui ho già postato in passato un terzo smalto, One Kiwi a Day, trovate il post qui) e uno dalla 50's Girls Reloaded (luglio/agosto 2011).

ESSENCE - FRUITY - BANANA

ENG: I was fascinated by this light pastel and pearly yellow, because I think it's perfect for a delicate look, but it also has a strong effect with tanned hands, so, a polish for all seasons. It's very cute, but the formula is not as cute as I wished: I got the full coverage just at the third coat, and the coats weren't very thin, so the final appearance is "fat" and was also very long to dry. Do you know any dupe more pigmented than this? :P

ITA: questo giallo pastello chiaro e perlato mi intrigava, lo trovo perfetto per un look delicato, ma anche per un contrasto più forte quando si hanno mani abbronzate, uno smalto per tutte le stagioni, insomma. Purtroppo, però, pur essendo molto carino a vedersi, l'applicazione non è altrettanto carina: la coprenza totale l'ho ottenuta solo alla terza mano di colore, e le passate non erano sottili, quindi il risultato è stata una massa abbastanza cicciotta e lunghissima da asciugare. Avete consigli su possibili dupe più scriventi? :P

ESSENCE - FRUITY - STRAWBERRY

ENG: after I catched up the green and the yellow, the I wanted the peachy shade from this collection, but a friend of mine found this pink and I was too much in love with this "seeds" finish to refuse her kindness. So I own this lovely "strawberry ice cream pink" and I like it, but it doesn't match very well with my skintone; for this reason I added a few nail stickers from GotBeauty brand. Formulation of this polish is much better than the one of the yellow shade from the same collection, but worse than the quality of the green one: coverage is good, but it still dries very slowly. By the way, those seeds in the base make me hungry!

ITA: dopo il giallino e il verdino, avrei voluto lo smalto pesca di questa collezione, ma ero troppo ingrifata da questo finish "a semini" per rifiutare il rosa, quando una mia amica mi ha detto di avere trovato solo questo "rosa gelato alla fragola" in un display. Non che non mi piaccia, solo che sbatte un casino col mio sottotono di pelle, e per questo  motivo ho aggiunto qualche stickers della GotBeauty, altrimenti sembrava non avessi neanche le unghie! XD La formulazione è molto migliore di quella del giallo banana della medesima collezione, ma peggiore di quella del verde kiwi; sebbene la coprenza sia maggiore, e quindi si possono fare strati più sottili, l'asciugatura è stata ugualmente lenta. Però quanto adoro quei semini, mi fanno fame!

ESSENCE - 50'S GIRL RELOADED - 03 I'M A MARINE GIRL

ENG: once upon a time there was a gorgeous blue shimmer that I really really loved: Pupa - 701 China Blue. It was a one coater, extremely pigmented, a deep and intense color, also very long lasting... Simply gorgeous! It had just one lack: it dried up in the bottle after only two applications, so I had to start a hunt for a dupe. This Essence is quite close to the goal: colour and finish are the same, but pigmentation isn't at the same level than my previous treasure. By the way, it's amazing this one, too! Stickers are from Mi-Ny!

ITA: eccoci arrivati al pezzo forte di questo post, a mio parere. Anni fa avevo un blu shimmer che adoravo, il Pupa - 701 China Blue: one coater, colore pieno, profondo, intenso, durata eccellente... Spettacolare! Ma si è seccato tantissimo dopo due soli utilizzi e quindi ho cercato un dupe per sostituirlo. Con questo Essence ci sono quasi: il colore e il finish sono uguali, ma la formulazione, invece, è meno pigmentata e ci vogliono due passate di colore, ma alla fine è stupendo anche questo! Gli stickers sono della Mi-Ny!

ENG: since I didn't have enough stickers for all my nails, then I used a different type for my right hand, from the same kit of decals. P.S. sorry but my right hans always has very short nails and with different lenght... It can't be helped: I'm not able to be more careful to my nails and they always broke (up with me)! XD

ITA: visto che non avevo abbastanza stickers uguali per tutte le dita, sulla mano destra ho messo questi altri, che facevano parte dello stesso set di decals. P.S. la mia mano destra ha sempre le unghie cortissime e di lunghezze diverse, non ce la farò MAI in tutta la vita a limitarmi nell'usarle per evitare di spaccarle! XD

Twinsie Friday: Duochrome Depend - 086

ENG: as I told you before (ctrl+c and ctrl+v is coming), I hate pink. I hate peach rose. And I hate the pearl finish. And, of course, you can't even imagine how much I hate pearly pink. So... What's wrong with me to buy a shade like this?!? Actually it's my friend Daniela's fault, since this was a gift for her, in the first time. Was. Sorry Dany, shame on me, but I'll buy another one for you in the future, because this evil shade is fucking amazing on nails!!! Keep an eye to my friend's posts at the bottom of this post!!! ;D

ITA: come avevo già scritto (copio-incollo), io odio il rosa. Se possibile, odio ancora di più il rosa pesca. E odio il finish perlato. Non potete neanche immaginare quanto io possa odiare un rosa perlato... Che razza di brutta malattia mi ha portato a mettere questo smalto nel cestino del male? Inizialmente la colpa è della mia amica Daniela, a cui volevo regalare questo smalto ma che, vergogna a me, glielo prenderò in un secondo momento, perchè questo me lo tengo, gne gne gne. Non so come sia possibile, ma... E' stupendo!!!  Date un'occhiata anche alle proposte delle mie smaltamiche: trovate i link alla fine del post! ;D

DEPEND - 086

ENG: it's very hard to catch the beauty of this polish: sometimes it's a very pale gold, sometimes a dull peach, sometimes both, but the pearliness is always the lead actress to make your nails like shells. Coverage is quite good: I did two tiny coats to define the edges and a generous third one to avoid brush strokes. By the way, strokes are not so obvious for a pearly shade. The brush didn't seem so good in the very first time, but the application was very precise in the end. Fast drying. Not so durable, but so beautiful! ;D

ITA: è difficile capire la bellezza di questo smalto: a volte è un oro pallidissimo, a volte un pesca spento, a volte entrambi, ma sempre e comunque la perlescenza la fa da padrona per far sembrare le unghie come conchiglie. La coprenza è piuttosto buona: ho dato due passate sottili per delineare la forma e poi una abbondante per far vedere meno le pennellate, ma, per essere uno smalto perlato, non si vedono molto comunque. Il pennellino non sembrava granchè, ma alla fine la stesura è filata precisissima. Asciugatura veloce. Durata un po' meno. Bellezza garantita! ;D

Pupa - 731 Pealy Jade

ENG: I wasn't interested in this nail polish in the first time, because I've seen swatches online and it had too many noticeable brush strokes... Official pics also confirmed my first impression, so I forgot about it, until I went to Sirene Blu drugstore and the display was in front of me... It was love. *_* Sorry for veeeeery short nails but this is an old pic from past October and my nails were very weak those weeks.

ITA: non ero interessata in questo smalto all'inizio, perchè avevo visto swatches online e mi sembrava ci fossero un po' troppe pennellate da applicazione in bella vista... Anche le foto ufficiali mi confermavano questa prima impressione, e così mi sono dimenticata di lui, fino a quando sono passata alle Sirene Blu e mi sono trovata il display davanti... Fu amore. *_* Scusate per la "lunghezza" delle unghie, ma questa è una foto vecchia, di ottobre scorso, e in quel periodo le mie unghie erano davvero molto deboli.

PUPA - CHINA DOLL COLLECTION - 731 PEALY JADE

ENG: the color is a deep pearly teal, so deeply that the edges are darker. Amazing. Two advices: first, use a smoothing base; and second, even the first coat is already opaque, please, not be stingy and add a second one, so you'll obtain a stunning deepness of color. On the other hand, this polish doesn't need of a top coat, since it's shining, intense and very long lasting on nails by itself.

ITA: il colore è un ottanio perlato così profondo che i lati sono molto più scuri. Fantastico. Due consigli: primo, usate una base levigante; e secondo, anche se la prima mano è già coprente, per favore, non siate tirchi e datene una seconda passata, otterrete una profondità di colore pazzesca. In compenso questo smalto non abbisogna di top coat, già da solo è brillante, intenso e molto durevole.

Pupa - 620 Lucky Red

ENG: I wasn't interested in this nail polish in the first time, because I've seen swatches online and they showed an orangey red quite plain and with noticeable brush strokes... Official pics also confirmed my first impression, so I forgot about it, until I went to Sirene Blu drugstore and the display was in front of me... Another story: another kind of red, another deepness of color, another quality of formula... Was love. *_*

ITA: non ero interessata in questo smalto all'inizio, perchè avevo visto swatches online e mi sembrava un rosso aranciato piuttosto piatto e con evidenti pennellate da applicazione... Anche le foto ufficiali mi confermavano questa prima impressione, e quindi mi sono dimenticata di lui, fino a quando sono passata alle Sirene Blu e mi sono trovata il display davanti... Tutta un'altra storia: un'altra tonalità di rosso, tutta un'altra profondità di colore, un'altra qualità di formulazione... Fu amore. *_*

PUPA - CHINA DOLL COLLECTION - 620 LUCKY RED

ENG: the color is a medium red, not light and not dark, not warm and not cold: a perfect balance to being bright but still shady on the edges. Two advices: first of all, use a smoothing base to avoid evident brush strokes during the application; and secondly, even the first coat is already opaque, please, not be stinkgy and apply a second one, so you'll obtain a stunning deepness of color. Reds are a classic, but they need of a bit of your attention to express their real potential. On the other hand, this polish doesn't need of a top coat, since it's shining, intense and very long lasting on nails, even alone. In conclusion, a great red.

ITA: il colore è un rosso medio, non chiaro e non scuro, non caldo e non freddo: un bilanciamento perfetto per risultare bello saturo ma comunque ombreggiato ai bordi. Due consigli: primo, usate una base levigante per evitare poi le pennellate da applicazione; e secondo, anche se la prima mano è già coprente, per favore, non siate tirchie e datene una seconda passata, otterrete una profondità di colore pazzesca. I rossi sono un classico, ma hanno bisogno di qualche cura per esprimere il loro potenziale. In compenso, questo smalto non abbisogna di top coat, già da solo è brillante, intenso e molto durevole. In conclusione, un grande rosso.

A-England - Iseult + Revlon - Starry Pink + gradient

I guess this could be my only pink wednesday: I'm not a pink-type, not at all. No... Absolutely no... No way... Brrrr... By the way, sometimes there are some pinks that meet my taste, surprisingly! These two polishes are a great example for this, and a friend of mine, Alice from Mai Senza Smalto blog (visit it, it's  an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G blog!), kindly divided her bottles to gift me these for last Xmas!!! Aly, too lovely with this girl with no heart for pinks... ç__ç

I have to admit it: I LIKE IT! :D Oh! Seven Hells! I don't like a pink... I like _TWO_ pinks! Nothing will be the same anymore... >__<

● A-ENGLAND - ISEULT
A very pale pink with a slight silver opalescence. Enchanting and it even matches with my olive skin, this is a miracle! :D More, it's a very long duration on nails!

● REVLON - STARRY PINK
This polish has almost the same base colour of the previous one, but it also has hex big silver and little round glitters into it. I had some difficulties applying this polish, but just because I have short nails and I wanted the hex glitters were spread evenly, but this is a problem of mine (mind! XD). This one is very long lasting as the previous one, too!

Ever - 38 + various bases

First of all: hands on! I'm pretty sure to have made a lot of chaos with English grammar, so be patient! ;P
I didn't know this EVER Italian brand at all, until I've seen this post on Smalto Italiano blog, but I've never seen it in stores, and I had no idea how to find it... I was almost forgetting about these polishes, when I spotted them at an OVS store pretty far from my house, I was there by chance for the first time, infact. They were all amazing in bottle that I couldn't decide how many and which to buy! Eventually I choose two of them, and this is the first one.

● EVER - 38
Seriously? I can't decide if I like or not this polish! Alice from Mai senza smalto blog reviewed this one and she drew attention to the fact that it's pretty sheer and not very intense as seems in the bottle. Actually she's right and you can see her swatch here, so I decided to layer it over an opaque base, but I couldn't decide which was most fitted for it... So I tried 5 different mint polishes! The result is pretty good and the polish has shown the best of it, especially the pretty matte silver particles and few gold glitters. The color isn't a duochrome like I hoped, but it's a lovely mint green; it's more frost than I expected, but still pretty, and there aren't so many shade differences when you'll have layered this polish over other colors.
This wasn't a bad purchase, in the end, but I'm not 100% convinced, yet, sorry. ç__ç

A fruitful afternoon! *__*

Some months ago I found the blog of Chloe and I fell in love with scotch tape technique, then... Few days ago... I discovered the "scotch tape technique 2.0", on Nailside. This girl is my weekly/monthly/annual/indefinitely idol, my newest muse, my recent illumination! She's creative and still simple, original but not excessive, and I guess I'll steal a lot of ideas from her, changing colors or something or who-knows... The first one is this mani, a mix of what she calls "laser mani" and "mummy mani", and, if you want to try, here there are her tutorials. Have fun like me!!! Thank you Jane! ;D
