Holothon: Pupa - 032 Emerald Green

PUPA - HOLOGRAPHIC - 032 EMERALD GREEN

ENG: only great words for it: it applies as butter, one coater, no need of top coat, dries quite fast and longs a lot on nails. Holographic effect shows off its best under bulb light, like its brothers from the same collection, so you don't must to wait for the summer season to enjoy of it. About its colour... I couldn't decide if it was more a sky blue or more a green mint/jade/pastel... It's definitely a green, in the end, but the dividing line between the two colours is very thin, depending by different lights.

ITA: che dire? Si stende come burro, volendo ne basta una sola passata di colore, non abbisogna di top coat, asciuga alquanto rapidamente e dura parecchio. Come gli altri fratellini della stessa collezione, anche questo dà il suo miglior effetto olografico sotto luci artificiali, e così non si è neanche schiavi della stagione estiva per goderseli. Per quanto riguarda il suo colore, ho faticato non poco a decidere se metterlo con gli azzurrini chiari o con i verdi menta/giada/pastello... Alla fine penso che sia un verde, decisamente, ma, sotto alcune luci, la linea di demarcazione è davvero impercettibile.

Pupa - 731 Pealy Jade

ENG: I wasn't interested in this nail polish in the first time, because I've seen swatches online and it had too many noticeable brush strokes... Official pics also confirmed my first impression, so I forgot about it, until I went to Sirene Blu drugstore and the display was in front of me... It was love. *_* Sorry for veeeeery short nails but this is an old pic from past October and my nails were very weak those weeks.

ITA: non ero interessata in questo smalto all'inizio, perchè avevo visto swatches online e mi sembrava ci fossero un po' troppe pennellate da applicazione in bella vista... Anche le foto ufficiali mi confermavano questa prima impressione, e così mi sono dimenticata di lui, fino a quando sono passata alle Sirene Blu e mi sono trovata il display davanti... Fu amore. *_* Scusate per la "lunghezza" delle unghie, ma questa è una foto vecchia, di ottobre scorso, e in quel periodo le mie unghie erano davvero molto deboli.

PUPA - CHINA DOLL COLLECTION - 731 PEALY JADE

ENG: the color is a deep pearly teal, so deeply that the edges are darker. Amazing. Two advices: first, use a smoothing base; and second, even the first coat is already opaque, please, not be stingy and add a second one, so you'll obtain a stunning deepness of color. On the other hand, this polish doesn't need of a top coat, since it's shining, intense and very long lasting on nails by itself.

ITA: il colore è un ottanio perlato così profondo che i lati sono molto più scuri. Fantastico. Due consigli: primo, usate una base levigante; e secondo, anche se la prima mano è già coprente, per favore, non siate tirchi e datene una seconda passata, otterrete una profondità di colore pazzesca. In compenso questo smalto non abbisogna di top coat, già da solo è brillante, intenso e molto durevole.

Have you ever noticed that you say "I own a dog" but you never say "I own a cat"? You say "I live with a cat". And God forbid. I live with MAYA, for example. Since October the 9th, 2003. She followed my cousin from her car to my doorstep, and since then I couldn't get rid of her live without her anymore. We fall asleep paw in hand, we tease each other all the time, we poop in sync... She's my baby, she's my best friend,  she's my family, she's my life and also she's also a bit my death. XD
Then there are my nephews Gigio and Kodro; my neighborhood: Diego and Matteo, Macchia, Grigetta and "the new one"; and all those I've hosted for a while: Mao-Lin, Myu, and Bagigio. And Romeo.
I used to hate cats before I met Maya, could you believe that? Shame on me... So... Let's celebrate this piece of art! But not just today: let's set aside a handful of catfood in case of need, and a bowl of fresh water in the summer heat, and our index finger to let them sniff it.

ITA: ecchice qua con un evento giUoioso! In questo lieto giorno si festeggia LUI. Il vero miglior amico dell'uomo ma anche della donna, il vero dominatore del mondo Berlusconi ce fai na pippa, il vero gestore del nostro tempo & spazio & anche-tutto-il-resto. Colui che tutto può perchè sì, e basta. IL GATTO.
Mai notato che si dice "ho un cane", ma non si dice mai "ho un gatto"? Semmai si dice "vivo con un gatto". E ci mancherebbe pure. Io vivo con MAYA, per esempio. Dal 9 ottobre 2003. Ha seguito mia cugina dall'auto fino alla mia porta, e non sono più riuscita a togliermela dalle balle farne a meno. Ci addormentiamo mano nella zampa, ci facciamo i dispetti a vicenda, facciamo la cacca in compagnia... E' la mia bimba, la mia patafrulla, la mia culona, la mia migliore amica, la mia famiglia, la mia vita e anche un po' la mia morte. XD

E poi ci sono i miei nipotini: Gigio l'indescrivibbole e Kodro il gatto pensionato. Il mio micinato: Diego lo scroccone, Macchia la bestia del demonio, la Grigetta un po' diva, Matteo polmoni d'acciaio, "quello nuovo" che fa il puttano... E quelli passati di qua in stallo, come Mao-Lin che ora tiene a bada un pastore tedesco e un dobermann, Myu che non so se ce l'ha fatta, Bagigio il ciuccione. E Romeo il gattontolo. 

E pensare che io li detestavo i gatti prima di conoscere Maya... Sciagura a me. Quindi... Festeggiamo quest'opera d'arte! Ma non solo oggi: teniamo sempre un pugnetto di crocchini a portata di zampa, una ciotolina di acqua fresca in estate, e un indice da puntare contro di loro per farci annusare.

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire + Pupa - 712 Navy Blue + Essence - Matt Top Coat

ENG: let's not waste time talking and give space to this layering. ;)

ITA: non sprechiamo tempo in ciance e diamo subito spazio alle immagini di questo layering. ;)

ENG: but... If you mattify this? Noooot bad at all...

ITA: maaaa... E se lo mattifichiamo? Niente ma niente ma proprio niente male...

- PUPA - 712 NAVY BLUE

ENG: a dusty blue I love a lot! It's a wonderful shade that changes pretty much its intensity from indoor to outdoor. Actually it's a little bit on the thick side, but one-coater, auto-level and long long lasting.

ITA: un blu polvere che adoro! E' una tinta splendida, la cui intensità cambia notevolmente se siete all'aperto o in casa. Un po' denso, a dir la verità, ma ne basta una sola passata, è autolivellante e a lunghissima durata.

- MAX FACTOR - FANTASY FIRE

ENG: step by step: if you wear it alone it is a sheer periwinkle jelly with tons and tons of fuchsia microsparkles that go on yellow/green if you see it from the side (but the duochrome effect is very slight). If you wear it over a blue base (like me in this post) you'll obtain a quite visible multichrome effect, as you can see in the pics above. In the end, if you wear it over a black base, you'll see an enchanting bright red and gold and green sparkle. I've already spoken about it in this comparison VS BeYu - Brilliant Shiraz and the biggest difference between them is that BS is more sparkling, but FF has the strongest duochrome effect. 

ITA: un passo alla volta: se stendete questo smalto da solo, lo vedrete come un jelly pervinca traslucido strapieno di microparticelle riflettenti fucsia che tendono al giallo/verde in controluce (ma l'effetto bicromatico è molto lieve). Se lo indossate invece sopra una base blu (come me in questo post), otterrete un ben più evidente effetto multicromatico, come potete vedere nelle immagini qui sopra. Infine, se lo applicate sopra uno smalto nero, avrete un incantevole strato di brillantissimo shimmer rosso, dorato e verde. Ho già parlato di queste cose in questo confronto con il BeYu - Brilliant Shiraz e la più grande differenza tra i due è che il BS è molto più sbrilluccicoso, mentre il FF ha il maggiore effetto duochrome.

Pupa - 620 Lucky Red

ENG: I wasn't interested in this nail polish in the first time, because I've seen swatches online and they showed an orangey red quite plain and with noticeable brush strokes... Official pics also confirmed my first impression, so I forgot about it, until I went to Sirene Blu drugstore and the display was in front of me... Another story: another kind of red, another deepness of color, another quality of formula... Was love. *_*

ITA: non ero interessata in questo smalto all'inizio, perchè avevo visto swatches online e mi sembrava un rosso aranciato piuttosto piatto e con evidenti pennellate da applicazione... Anche le foto ufficiali mi confermavano questa prima impressione, e quindi mi sono dimenticata di lui, fino a quando sono passata alle Sirene Blu e mi sono trovata il display davanti... Tutta un'altra storia: un'altra tonalità di rosso, tutta un'altra profondità di colore, un'altra qualità di formulazione... Fu amore. *_*

PUPA - CHINA DOLL COLLECTION - 620 LUCKY RED

ENG: the color is a medium red, not light and not dark, not warm and not cold: a perfect balance to being bright but still shady on the edges. Two advices: first of all, use a smoothing base to avoid evident brush strokes during the application; and secondly, even the first coat is already opaque, please, not be stinkgy and apply a second one, so you'll obtain a stunning deepness of color. Reds are a classic, but they need of a bit of your attention to express their real potential. On the other hand, this polish doesn't need of a top coat, since it's shining, intense and very long lasting on nails, even alone. In conclusion, a great red.

ITA: il colore è un rosso medio, non chiaro e non scuro, non caldo e non freddo: un bilanciamento perfetto per risultare bello saturo ma comunque ombreggiato ai bordi. Due consigli: primo, usate una base levigante per evitare poi le pennellate da applicazione; e secondo, anche se la prima mano è già coprente, per favore, non siate tirchie e datene una seconda passata, otterrete una profondità di colore pazzesca. I rossi sono un classico, ma hanno bisogno di qualche cura per esprimere il loro potenziale. In compenso, questo smalto non abbisogna di top coat, già da solo è brillante, intenso e molto durevole. In conclusione, un grande rosso.

Pupa - 038 Holographic Strawberry

ENG: here I am with the third Pupa holo from the 4 I bought a couple of months ago.

ITA: eccomi qui col terzo Pupa olografico dei 4 che ho preso un paio di mesi fa.

PUPA - HOLOGRAPHIC NAIL POLISH - 038 HOLOGRAPHIC STRAWBERRY

ENG: this was a weird choice, because it's a kind of red very hard to define, almost coral, almost pink, almost I-don't know! Moreover is a bright color but still delicate... I'm really not able to describe it, sorry, but I can say that the application is flawless and has a very long duration. Strange fact: all Pupa holos have the best holo effect under artificial light than sunlight! So they are perfect for the winter season!

ITA: questo smalto è stata una scelta bizzarra, perchè è un tipo di rosso davvero indefinibile, quasi un corallo, quasi rosa, quasi manco-io-ne-ho-idea! Inoltre è di una tonalità molto brillante, pur restando delicato... Non sono davvero in grado di descriverlo, scusatemi, ma ciò che posso dire è che ha una formula grandiosa e una durata notevole. Cosa bizzarra: tutti gli olografici Pupa hanno il miglior effetto holo sotto luce artificiale, piuttosto che sotto quella solare! Sono quindi perfetti anche per la stagione invernale!

TOTALLY RANDOM SUNDAY #23

ENG: Italian brands are pleasuring me more and more recently. I wouldn't buy anything, but Kiko, Pupa, Astra and Shaka, really surprised me with a few new releases. I rexisted more than I was expecting by me, but I fell for some items anyway... Here they are! :)

ITA: le marche italiane mi stanno davvero sorprendendo positivamente di recente. Non avevo intenzione di acquistare nulla di nuovo, ma poi Kiko, Pupa, Astra e Shaka mi hanno davvero conquistata con alcuni nuovi lanci. Ho resistito più di quanto avrei pensato, ma ho comunque ceduto su alcune cose... Eccole qui! :)

KIKO - LAVISH ORIENTAL LIMITED EDITION - 399 SILK TAUPE

ENG: I wasn't interested in this LE in the first time, nothing really new for a polish addicted, so I passed once, twice and... The third... Mmmmh... My friends talk very well about the taupe one... Wait... I could try it... Why I did it? Why??!?!??! Hope to post very soon my swatches, 'cause this polish is pure love!

ITA: non ero interessata a questa collezione in un primo tempo, perchè non era niente di davvero nuovo per una impunita smaltara, così sono andata oltre una, due volte... E poi la terza... Mmmmh... Le mie amiche parlavano così bene di quello beige... Spè... Proviamo dai, non costa niente... Perchè l'ho fatto? Perchèèè??!??! Spero di riuscire a postare presto i miei swatches, perchè questo smalto è amore al 300%!

PUPA - CHINA DOLL COLLECTION - 620 LUCKY RED + 731 PEALY JADE

ENG: I wasn't interested in this collection before, and not because they were something I've already seen (like the Kiko one, for example), but because I've seen swatches online and my opinion after that was simply... Bleah! Most evident lacks were flat colors and too many application strokes... This was too bad for 5 euros for 5 ml of polish! More, even the official pics (you can see them here) confirmed my first impression, so polishes had to be bad as I thought, for sure! Then I went to Sirene Blu drugstore for other reasons and I've taken a look to them anyway. *silence* I'd buy almost all of them if I could, and it was very hard to choose just two of them. The color isn't flat at all: if you are not stingy and you put a second layer to your manicure,  you'll obtain a madly deep color, full of reflections and sparkling! More, if you are smart enough to use a smoothing base before the application of the polish, you will have no strokes at all! Sorry, I don't like to being controversy for frivolous things like this, but wtf... I absolutely advice these polishes, give them a chance by your own eyes in case you were perplexed like me about them, they deserve it! *^__^*

ITA: non ero interessata a questa collezione prima di comprarli, e non perchè sapevano di già visto (come la collezione Kiko, per esempio), ma perchè, semplicemente, avevo visto swatches online e ne ero rimasta alquanto schifata. Le più evidenti carenze erano colori piatti e troppe pennellate da applicazione visibili... Pessima cosa per smalti da 5 euro per 5 millilitri! Oltretutto anche le foto ufficiali (le potete vedere qui) mi confermavano questa prima impressione, e quindi la brutta opinione iniziale doveva essere per forza giusta! Poi sono andata alle Sirene Blu per altre cose mie e ho dato comunque un'occhiata al display. *silenzio* Li avrei comprati quasi tutti se avessi potuto, ed è stata durissima sceglierne soltanto due. Il colore non è piatto per niente: se non siete tirchie da fermarvi alla prima passata solo perchè è già coprente, scoprirete quanto questi colori sono estremamente profondi, pieni di riflessi e luccichii! Inoltre, se avete abbastanza accortezza da mettere una base levigante prima dello smalto, non avrete nessuna pennellata da applicazione, nessunissima! Mi dispiace, odio essere polemica per faccende così frivole, ma cazzarola... Non posso che consigliarvi gli smalti di questa collezione: date loro una chance di persona se, come me, eravate rimaste perplesse in un primo momento, perchè se  lo meritano davvero! *^__^*

ASTRA - ITALIAN ROMANTIC COLOURS - 59 LIGHT GREEN

ENG: nothing so unique or special, just I was in the chinese store close to home and I glanced to the Astra display for something interesting and cheap. 2 euros and I was a bit happier than before! :D

ITA: niente di così unico e speciale, ero semplicemente al negozio dei cinesi vicino casa e ho buttato un'occhiata allo stand della Astra, sperando di incoccare inq ualcosa di interessante ed economico. 2 euro e sono uscita un pochetto più felice di come sono entrata! :D

SHAKA - WINTER PARTY GLITTERS - G4 NATURE + G3 SUN + G2 JOY + G1 PASSION

ENG: you can't even imagine how I freaked out as soon as my friend Simona posted this fucking amazing post in her blog. I don't have any reputation to defend, but it's better you don't know anyway... Unluckily Shaka is not sold in my region, yet (yet, right?), but luckily it is in other regions where live my friends, so Juno picked up 4 of them to me, and I can't wait to try all of them, they are so... Joyful! Can't wait! *^_^*

ITA: non potete neanche immaginare quanto ho sclerato appena la mia amica Simona ha postato queste strafighe immagini sul suo blog. Non ho nessuna reputazione da difendere, ma è comunque meglio non lo sappiate... Sfortunatamente la Shaka non è ancora venduta nella mia zona (non ancora, ma lo sarà... vero?), ma fortunatamente lo è in molte altre zone d'Italia, tra cui dove vivono alcune mie smaltamiche, e Juno ha preso questi 4 per me, e non vedo l'ora di provarli tutti. Sono così... Gioiosi! Smanio! *^_^*

ITA: sono piuttosto stitica quando si tratta di postare mie foto, non sono propriamente femminile, e non sono neanche lontanamente vicina allo stereotipo della beauty blogger. Vabbeh, queste sono estremamente sovraesposte e la salute forse forse comincia ad ingranare, quindi sembro quasi figa, posso postarle! XD

Pupa - 034 Holographic Denim Blu

ENG: Another Pupa holo from the four I own from their Holographic Nail Polish collection. I've already written a "short" presentation about the best holos that's been released from Italian brands this summer in this post, where I've also reviewed the Pupa - 035.
ITA: Un altro holo della Pupa, tra i quattro che ho scelto dalla loro collezione Holographic Nail Polish. ne ho già parlottato un po', insieme al riassunto di altro olografici lanciati da marche italiane di recente, in  questo post, dove ho anche recensito il Pupa - 035. 

- PUPA - HOLOGRAPHIC NAIL COLOR - 034 DENIM BLUE

ENG: I've read elsewhere this is the polish from this collection with the strongest holographic effect, but I think it's the number 035, that I reviewed here. This one is still slightly linear, but its best thing is the color: a wonderful and intense denim blue, that's young-looking and classy at the same time. I really love this polish, and the formula is also great: one coater and long long long lasting. Adviced for sure. A must-have for blue lovers. Strange fact: best holo effect shows off in artificial light! Finally a holo you can wear in winter, by the way the color is lovely even in the shade, I like it under every kind of light. :)

ITA: Ho letto in giro, gironzolin gironzolando, che questo smalto ha il miglior effetto olografico tra tutti quelli della sua collezione... Naaaaa! Il migliore, secondo me, è il numero 035, che ho già recensito qui. Questo qui è ancora un linear holo, ma il suo punto di forza non è quello, ma il colore: un bellissimo ed intenso blu jeans, che ha un aspetto giovanile, ma è anche tremendamente elegante. La formula è grandiosa: coprente in una passata e dura davvero un sacco, giorni e giorni. Lo consiglio caldamente. Cosa strana: l'effetto olografico è maggiore sotto la luce artificiale! Questo lo rende un holo indossabile senza perdere nulla anche d'inverno, yeah!

Pupa - 035 Holographic Violet

This summer is totally the most holo season ever! Even the most traditional brands tried to release holos, also Italian brands, finally! Kiko, Layla, Astra and Pupa did the best collections by my point of view: 

1) KIKO released 4 scattered shades within Lavish Oriental limited edition. € 4.90 each and I advice the beige/taupe (taken, of course!), that's very classy and matches very well with different type of skintones 

2) LAYLA launched 16 linear holos called Hologram Effect Nail Polish that already are a must have for every holo fan in the world. By the way, they are too expensive by my point of view (from € 8 to € 12 each!) and I passed on these, but I have to admit that they are top level holos, maybe even better than  "good old" Nfu.Oh ones

3) ASTRA is a very cheap brand you can often find in chinese markets, and surprised me with 8 holo microglitters a-a-z-i-n-g: super pigmented and a super long lasting formula in the Holo Lacquer collection. I couldn't resist to four of them (the teal, the violet, the grass green and the fabulous blue) and I can't decide which one is better ("maybe" the FABULOUS blue? XD). Their price is € 4 each 

4) PUPA also proposed 8 colors of new polishes called Holographic Nail Polish collection that's in a half way between linear and scattered holos. Usually I'm not crazy for Pupa polishes: most of them are one coater and the duration is infinite, but they dry very fast in their bottles and they cost almost € 5 for 5 ml... By the way they were on 3x2 special promotion for 2 months (June and July) so I succumbed to temptation with pleasure, and I'm not disappointed at all! Four holos for me (lilac, pale red, turquoise/blue and a delicate green) and I'm going to swatch all of them, because they are really amazing and I want to share with you my delight about having them! :D

- PUPA - HOLOGRAPHIC NAIL COLOR - 035 VIOLET

What can I say about this beauty that you can't see with your own eyes in the pics above? I've chosen this one because it's not very pinkish and it's quite delicate on nails, but still decise. The holo effect is the best of the 4 shades I bought. Application is flawless: you may not even have need of a smooth base coat and surely you have no need of a top coat neither, because it may reduce the holo effect, and the polish will last a lot of days even alone. Great formula!!! Strange fact: all Pupa holos have the best holo effect under artificial light than sunlight! So they are perfect for the winter season!!!!!!

Pupa - 706 + China Glaze - Passion + stamping

It's late, I'm sleepy, and I'll spare you from my useless blah blah blah. :D

This polish has a very-dark-brown-almost-black base and there are gold flakes and yellow+green microglitter into it; it's very close to China Glaze - Wagon Trail, Color Club - With Abandon, MAC - Seriously Hip, and more... But I think this one could be better, especially about brilliancy. It's extremely opaque with one coat, and long lasting, but it becomes thick very soon. :(

This amazing gold chrome polish never disappoints me for konadicures, as its brother Millennium does!

A fruitful afternoon! *__*

Some months ago I found the blog of Chloe and I fell in love with scotch tape technique, then... Few days ago... I discovered the "scotch tape technique 2.0", on Nailside. This girl is my weekly/monthly/annual/indefinitely idol, my newest muse, my recent illumination! She's creative and still simple, original but not excessive, and I guess I'll steal a lot of ideas from her, changing colors or something or who-knows... The first one is this mani, a mix of what she calls "laser mani" and "mummy mani", and, if you want to try, here there are her tutorials. Have fun like me!!! Thank you Jane! ;D
