E.L.F. - Eye Enhancing Eyeshadow - Brown Eyes 1

ENG: the E.L.F. Studio line has a new collection called Eye Enhancing, that's 6 palettes with 6 colors each. This one is the Brown Eyes 1 - item code #85136.
DIMENSIONS: cm 10,8 x  6,3 x 1,0.
QUANTITY: 1.2 gr for each eyeshadow, 7.2 gr for all of them.
PRICE: €10 in Italy, $6 in US (I bought it there thanks to an American friend).
PACKAGING: compact, sleek and great quality. I appreciate a lot the ELF Studio items style, especially palettes, because they are simple but with rounded classy shapes. Materials are resistant and don't attract dust and dirt as the NARS one does (ELF Studio is obviously "inspired" by this famous brand); there's also a useful mirror inside; and the opening doesn't break your nails! Just one grumble: the sponge applicator... Why? ELF was used to add a good quality brush in Studio palettes. Sigh.
PIGMENTATION: good on bare skin, better over a primer, shades are semi-opaque but pigmented
TEXTURE: really good, the higlighter is a bit chalky, but the rest is not powdery at all
DURATION: there's a big gap between light colors and the very long lasting medium and dark shades
COLORS: as you can see, this is a basic palette almost all with browns. The range of color is not original, but very good if you are searching for a basic passepartout with nice shades that match well to each other:
1 - rosey champagne with a slight shimmer, not very pigmented and not durable, btw it's pretty
2 - medium hazel shade with a hint of red, it's matte almost satin, very pigmented and with a good duration
3 - matte cool dark brown extremely pigmented, a deep color that's also long lasting, amazing!
4 - matte whitecream, average pigmentation but a bit chalky and not durable, primer necessarily
5 - this is a color very hard to define, I guess it's a medium/dark antique gold with a hint of olive green, super pigmented and silky, my favorite with the dark brown and the most peculiar shade in the palette
6 - matte dark blue with a great duration on eyelids, writes a lot but you need to blend it asap
CONCLUSIONS: I know this a very basic and simple palette, and if you already own a lot of eyeshadows, then these ones won't be necessary... I bought it to customize it with lipsticks and I didn't have great expectations, but I'm surprised of it, at last, despite the light shades. It's an ordinary range of color, but I still like it, so I'll use it for a bit of time before customize it. This palette is a bit expensive in Italy/Europe, from my point of view, but I'd advice it for a 30% off, 7 euros it's a good price for it, I think! ^_^

E.L.F. - Eye Enhancing Eyeshadow - Blue Eyes 2

ENG: the E.L.F. Studio line has a new collection called Eye Enhancing, that's 6 palettes with 6 colors each. This one is the Blue Eyes 2 - item code #85135.
DIMENSIONS: cm 10,8 x  6,3 x 1,0.
QUANTITY: 1,2 gr for each eyeshadow, 7,2 gr for all of them.
Sigh.
PIGMENTATION: good on bare skin, but very good over a primer
TEXTURE: nothing bad, especially last two shades, that are silky and "filled"
DURATION: medium, not so good for the highlighter, but amazing for the blue and the brick shade
COLORS: not so original, but still pretty and they match to each other very well:
1 - very dark blue with a matte base and a few glitter inside of it, very long lasting
2 - dusty blue sky with a satin finish, a good pigmentation for this tasteful shade
3 - light grey matte, I can't say something about its quality, since this color disappears on my skintone
4 - white cream satin, average pigmentation and a bit powdery, but not so bad, at last
5 - auburn orange satin with some gold and copper glitters, super pigmented and durable, gorgeous shadow
6 - light rust/brick shade, awesome quality, especially duration is amazing, my favorite of the palette
CONCLUSIONS: I really liked this palette and I think I'll use it for a while before customizing it with lipsticks. Anyway, in my humble opinion the palette is still a medium quality item with a too high price: in Italy/Europe this palette costs 10 euros! With a sale off (40/50%, at least) I guess it worths the price for sure and I surely advice it, because it's a very pretty item, but 10 euros... Not at all...

TOTALLY RANDOM SUNDAY #46

SWAP WITH JULIA - PART 3

ENG: my second package from Julia is here, finally! inside the package there were a lot of things, but not all of them were for me. Items for me are: palettes below from E.L.F., a brush set from EcoTools and around twenty hot pots from Coastal Scents, but today I'm going to show you just E.L.F. items. ^_^

E.L.F. - EYE ENHANCING EYESHADOW
BROWN EYES 1 + BLUE EYES 2
ENG: actually I bought these palettes because I needed something to customize for my lipsticks and these ones are gorgeous and high quality. Anyway, I didn't want to spend 10 euros each, aka the European price, so I decided to take advantage of my American friend, since in US these palettes cost 6 dollars each, more there was a sale off, so I saved a lot of money! Before customization, I'll surely write a review for you: I've chosen these ones because they seem to be the best in pigmentation from the collection they are from.

TOTALLY RANDOM SUNDAY #38

INFO ABOUT FOLLOWING / INFORMAZIONI PER SEGUIRE IL BLOG
ENG: just a quick notice to let you know that you can follow this blog in more ways  in addition to Google Friend Connect from now on: take a look on the right menu for Bloglovin, Google+ and/or E-mail. :)

HAUL
ENG: a few weeks ago I took advantage from a very interesting promotion on the E.L.F. website to buy a few needed items plus a one whim more as extra cuddle. :)
E.L.F. STUDIO - POWDER BRUSH
ENG: people say that this brush works very well as multipurpose helper: it's for pressed and mineral powders, and even for creamy and liquid foundations, so I'm curious to figure out if it's true. I read a lot of good reviews about it, so I ordered it as soon as I could, more it costs a lot less of other high quality items I really like but I can't afford right now, for example the Everyday Minerals or the Neve Cosmetics ones.
Update: I'm using it for almost a month so far and I'm happy with it especially for blushes. I prefer a softer brush for powders (to avoid that leads around the unferlying foundation) and a thicker one for mineral foundation (because a kabuki attivates microcirculation better). I didn't try it for liquid foundation, yet. ;)
E.L.F. STUDIO - EYE TRANSFORMER
ENG: and this is the whim! It's a palette with 4 opalescent eyeshadows. You can barely see the differences between the colors, if you apply them alone. With a dark base, instead, they transform themselves into enchanting metallic reflections in green, copper, purple or blue. Amazing. I can't say nothing more today, but I'm going to do a review of this as soon as me and "it" we'll be closer to each other. ;P
E.L.F. STUDIO - WATERPROOF LENGTHENING & VOLUMIZING MASCARA - BLACK
ENG: my faithful mascara: I simply ended the previous one and I don't want to replace it with something else, so I rebought it again. It's the only one that doesn't run away from my wet lashes. :)
E.L.F. STUDIO - PRESSED POWER - PORCELAIN
ENG: my E.L.F. Mineral Booster ended... My other E.L.F. mineral-powder-that-I-don't-remember-its-name ended... My Lily Lolo Finishing Powder in Flawless Silk ended... Argh! Need some decent rescue powder! So I've tried with this. It seems good, I must to admit it, but it's too soon to say it for sure. ^^
Update: I'm using it every day and I'm liking it very much, I must to admit it. I like its coverage (by the way, lighter shade could not fit for pale skintones), I like the fact it doesn't create the cakey effect, I really like it. Just one defect: it isn't long lasting, and you'll need of touch ups. I don't care about being perfect all day long (because I'm not at all, even as soon as I've did my makeup XD) so this powder is very good for €4,50! :D
ITA: la mia cipria E.L.F. Mineral Booster finita... L'altra mia cipria E.L.F. di-cui-non-ricordo-assolutamente-il-nome era finita... La Lily Lolo Finishing Powder in Flawless Silk era finita pure lei... Mapporc!

EOTD - Eyes of the Day #4

ENG: a quick post for an old experiment. "There's nothing so experimental, here", you could say... And you're right, but I'm a newbie of makeup and this was my first blending try. There are a lot of mistakes (for example, too much white all around my eyes, and it's terrifying, I'm aware of it...) but I was quite proud of myself for the good mixture of three colors, at least. :D

TOTALLY RANDOM SUNDAY #11

HAULS
DECEMBER HAUL FROM ELF!
My cousin and I we bought few items in December taking advantage from the offer 17,50 euros of products + free shipping + mystery box. Here we go with my choices and what was into our mystery box.
- E.L.F. Essentials - Mechanical Eyelash Curler: very cheap, comfortable grip, it's not broken, yet, but doesn't curl eyelashes as much as my previous curler. Cute but maybe not so useful. :/
- E.L.F. Studio - Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara: actually I'm not sure this mascara extends and expands for real the lashes, because my eyelashes are already long and thick and very black, but the waterproof thing... Oh! I finally found a real waterproof mascara: you can apply this mascara and, in case you blink by mystake one second after the application, you will not have black spots all around; you can forget your mascara when you go to sleep and the next morning you'll be still perfect... Amazing, really. No other words. My mascara for life. I need for stocks! A+ with all my heart!
- E.L.F. Mineral - Booster in Sheer: this is the first powder of my entire life, so I cannot claim to give you an opinion. I bought it because I've read a lot of very good reviews, but I need for more and more time before I can really understand its quality. Sorry, I'm useless forthis... :P
- E.L.F. Holiday 2011 - 6 pcs Eyeshadow Palette in Natural: *breath* I was in love with the colors of this mini and cute palette, but I have to admit this wasn't a good purchase... The eyeshadows just don't write... You need to wet them and work them pretty much, for a final result disappointing, however. I paid it half then its price, only 2 euros, but I'm sad anyway, because I did really fall in love with the colors at first sight. ç__ç I thought: even the quality was bad, I could customize the palette for my lipsticks, at least... But I can't do that, either: also the packaging is pretty cheap... You're lucky this was a limited edition and I'm unlucky that the same palette of the past holiday (xmas of 2010) was a lot better. *sigh* Wait! The brush is useful for small corrections with concealer, at least. ;P
- E.L.F. Holiday 2011 - Beauty on the Go in day to Night: these ones were a lot better, luckily!!! Don't you expect fireworks on your face, no, please, resize your expectations; but these palettes are a good solution for an easy make-up. Half of shades are not well pigmented and they are quite invisible on your skin, but those ones are good? They are really pretty. I'm especially in love with the blush of the night palette and few of the shimmers from both palettes. The lipglosses are almost lipsticks, this was another good surprise. Important thing! ELF is releasing storage cases for this kind of palettes, but I've found a hygienic and comfortable and easy and FREE solution: put the second palette inverted in the transparent plastic case and cut all around. I can't understand the thrauma in the blogosphere for the lack of another case... Really, I can't... XD

TOTALLY RANDOM SUNDAY #2

HAULS
E.L.F
I took advantage from this amazing promotion: minimum of €12.00 of purchase + free shipping + mystery box € 12.00 of value. Great deal!

What I bought:
1) Studio Kabuki Brush - it works very well but it's lost a lot of hair, but just the first time I've used it, so I think we'll be good friends for the future
2) Mineral Foundation in Light - after 3 days it seems a great product, my skin thanks a lot
3) Mineral Eyeshadow Primer - velvety and delicate: very good!
4) Studio Complete Coverage Concealer in Medium - 3 of 4 colors are too similar to each others and they are not very covering, but it works very well over no-serious imperfections. It's easier to work with if you use your fingers, but the brush in the palette is a very good brush for other uses. I need more time before a fair judgement

My Mystery Box:
1) Mineral Bamboo Powder Brush - oh wow... so soft... I want to push my cheek all the day with it *_*
2) Nail Polish in Twinkle - a glitter multicolor top coat with delicate colors
3) & 4) Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil in Boldly Bronzed - yes, I received 2 of them! XD by the way, no problems at all: I'll swap the second one with a friend of mine or it'll be a gift, because it's a very pretty shade. I think it's better as pencil eye than eyeliner, because it's easy to work with

CHRESY
How I could resist in front of a big basket full of polishes mixed together as a peanut exhibitor at the supermarket with a sign 1x€1.50 or 3x€3.00? Am I crazy? Yes, I know... But not for this reason... Soooo I dipped my hands into it as a little girl with a basket of candies and I bought these 5 polishes for me and few more for my friends. Surprise: they are B4F and no bad at all! Search for a store near to you on the "Sirene Blu" official site. I don't know another chain of stores when I could find them, sorry.
40 - BORDEAUX PERLATO - shimmered dark red
42 - VERDE SCURO PERLATO - shimmered dark forest green
77 - MARRONE PERLATO - metallic-almost-a-frost greysh taupe
73 - VERDE CHIARO GLITTER - foiled light green apple
71 - AZZURRO GLITTER - foiled very light silvery blue
H&M
Next 2 polishes are a gift from my cousin, who can't resist to cute bottles! :D The first one has a design surely inspired from the British brand Ciaté and the second one reminds to the limited editions of the German brand Catrice. By the way, 2 very preeeetty polishes! Thank you Baby! <3
Going to the Opera - a creamy lacquered pure red
- Blue Wave - effect topcoat with blue sky and pink microglitters
CHINA GLAZE + A-ENGLAND
Next couple of polishes were sent to me by one of my polish-buddies, Daniela! ;D
- China Glaze - Ghoulish Glow: this is a gift from my friend, who knew about my passion for it. I wore it few days ago and my cat has played with my hands for hours (in the night, of course!!!) XD I'm thinking about painting some xmas decoration with it, what do you think about it? ;D
- A-England - Camelot: me and my friend took advantage by a promotion and I bought this black cream. I think cremes are very hard to choose. Glitters, holos, duochromes, etc... They are gorgeous but their special effect can easily hides lacks of formula: cremes have to be perfect or the result on your nails will be a disaster, so I'm always very careful about which creme to buy and which don't: bases are important, ever, for every things in your life. This one is amazing, the perfect black base. Adviced! ;D
MISSHA + ETUDE HOUSE
Next bunch of polishes are not mine: I bought from a very kind Korean eBay seller, Ruby Ruby Shop, who has a lovely catalogue of make-ups, stationery, jewelry, wall decals, skincare items and nail polishes, for a fair price and free shipping. I was searching for a wall sticker for my entrance and some cheap ideas for xmas gifts, then I discovered she also had polishes, and Daniela e Barbara bought a few of them, so, this is the reason I have them to my place even they aren't mines. I'll swatch them on false tips before they will go to their real owners, so they will be useful for future comparisons. ;)
If you're interested in purchase, Ruby Ruby Shop sells these Korean brands: Missha, Etude House, Skin Food, Laneige, Tony Moly, Innisfree and few more.
- Missha - HGR01: amazing, isn't it? I'm speechless since the first time I've seen it, and I'm still with no words any time I look at it. I think it's pretty close to new Model's Own - Beetlejuice Collection - Golden Green, don't you think?
I didn't swatched them, yet, so I can't talk about their quality
- Etude House - LUCIDarling - Shimmering #3 beige brown

OTHERS?
There are a lot more polishes I would to show you next Sunday. Since I never did a haul post, I would to show all I received as gift and bought by me during last 2/3 months: there also are a lot of [b]Basic (but most of them are for a future giveaway ;D), my Unicorn Puke from Cult Nails, 2 Kikos, 1 Ever, 1 Basic Beauty by Limoni, 1 Astra and... 4 Tony Molys from the crazy Galaxy collection! *__*

LINKS OF THE WEEK:
SWATCHES
Pee Before Polish: Zoya Ivanka
one of my lemmings <3
Scrangie: Color Club - Backstage Pass Collection
usually Color Club releases great items, but... This one...? CC, what's happened? ç__ç
- The Polish Aholic: Zoya - Feel Collection
I read different opinions about formula of this collection, but the dusty pastel shades are a must-have
- Nihrida: Essence - True Love + Essence - The dawn is broken
I'm waiting for the grey one from a friend of mine bought it for me and I can't wait to try my asphalt polish *__* The burgundy one: yummy!
- Mai Senza Smalto: [b] Basic - Earth Style Life + New York limited editions
[b]basic is the brand of Schlecker drugstores and this time is even better than usual, especially for the ESL collection, almost one coat polishes. Incredible! I want to swatch all of them as soon as my nails re-grow. *^__^*
- Light Your Nails: Essence - All Access
one of my favourite greens!
- The Beauty Case: TWIN Colour - Smurf Blue to Purple
I want to smurf myself! XD

Oh.My.God. I think it's very close to an Essence polish in a past TE, Holoberry or something... Don't you think?
