EOTD - Eyes of the Day #4

ENG: a quick post for an old experiment. "There's nothing so experimental, here", you could say... And you're right, but I'm a newbie of makeup and this was my first blending try. There are a lot of mistakes (for example, too much white all around my eyes, and it's terrifying, I'm aware of it...) but I was quite proud of myself for the good mixture of three colors, at least. :D

ITA: un post veloce per mostrarvi un vecchio esperimento. "Non c'è mica niente di sperimentale, qui", direte voi... E avete ragione, ma, come vi dico sempre, io sono una novellina del trucco e questo è stato il mio primo tentativo di sfumare insieme più colori. Ci sono un sacco di errori (per esempio troppo bianco intorno agli occhi, è terrificante, ne sono consapevole...) ma ero comunque piuttosto orgogliosa di me per come ho miscelato insieme tre colori. Perlomeno questo, dai! :D

[B]basic - Central Park + stamping + fimo

ENG: this is an old manicure made with a limited edition polish. Sorry, you can't find it anymore for sale, but, whatever, it's still a cute fimo & stamping nail art to show you. :P

ITA: questa è una vecchia manicure fatta con uno smalto di un'edizione limitata passata. Mi spiace recensire uno smalto che non è più reperibile, ma, pazienza dai, è comunque una nail art pucciosa con fettina di fimo e stamping, che vi mostro con piacere. :P

ENG: Maya loves any polish, as long as you cuddle her. ♥

ITA: finchè la coccoli, Maya ama qualsiasi smalto. ♥

- [B]BASIC - NEW YORK LIMITED EDITION - 01 CENTRAL PARK

ENG: this polish is not so unique, but it's still a beautiful color: it's a forest green creme with a hint of jade inside of it, and the packaging of the bottle reminds to Julep ones very much. Application was a bit hard to me, because the polish was thick. My friends didn't have the same problems with it, maybe the mine one suffered the hot and humid climate. 

ITA: questo smalto non è certo unico, ma è comunque un bellissimo colore: è una crema verde fureshta con un accenno di verde giada, e la bottiglia rimanda tantissimo a quelle della Julep. L'applicazione è stata un po' difficoltosa, perchè lo smalto era piuttosto denso. Alcune mie amiche non hanno avuto lo stesso mio problema, quindi forse è il mio quello tarocco, forse ha sofferto un po' il caldo umido.

[b]basic - 15 + [b]basic - 16 + [b]basic - 11 + gradient

ENG: This is another of those nail arts I did this summer when my camera was broken, so the quality is not so good. First and fourth pics are better than the 2 ones in the middle, because I took advantage of my cousin's cellphone, that isn't as big as a British Red Box, like my phone... :P By the way, another sponge gradient that came pretty well, made with summery colors! You can find my previous mint/teal gradient here.

ITA: Questa è un'altra delle nail arts che ho fatto st'estate quando la mia fotocamera era distrutta. Lo è ancora, ma almeno adesso ne ho una in prestito in sostituzione. La prima e la quarta foto sono molto migliori delle due centrali perchè le ho fatte approfittando del cellulare di mia cugina, che non è una cabina telefonica dell'anteguerra come il mio... :P Un'altra sponge gradient che mi pare sia uscita piuttosto bene, fatta tutta con colori super estivi! ENG: For this nail art I've used 3 cremes from [b]basic, the brand of Schlecker drugstores. I know this chain of stores is changing its owners and they are deciding which products will remains and which ones are going to be eliminated from their stores. I'm crossing my fingers for [b]basic, because is the cheapest brand in my country for cosmetics but still quite good about quality. Mini polishes are amazing. Pray with me! >_<

ITA: Per questa nail art ho usato tre creme della [b]basic, la marca venduta nei negozi Schlecker. Ho saputo che la Schlecker sta cambiando proprietari e in questo periodo stanno decidendo quali prodotti tenere e quali altri eliminare dai loro punti vendita. Incrocio le dita per la [b]basic, perchè produce gli smalti più economici che si possano trovare qui in Italia e sono comunque di qualità più che buona.  >_<

ENG: a simple yellow creme, the classic EGG color! :D It's not so easy to apply, but this is not unusual for a yellow polish, however the final result is good, at last. Be generous with your top coat, just in case!
ITA: una crema giallo UUUuuovo!!! XD Non è tanto facile da stendere, come del resto un po' tutti i gialli, ma, "con due mani e un po' di mano" il risultato è buono, alla fine. Siate generose con il top coat, eventualmente!
● [B]BASIC - REF. 5502 16
ENG: a basic orange creme easier to apply than the previous polish, opaque in two coats and very bright.
ITA: una semplice crema arancio più comoda da applicare del suo amico qua sopra, coprente in due passate e di una tonalità molto brillante.
● [B]BASIC - REF. 5502 11
ENG: a true red that dries pretty fast and darker than it looks like in the bottle, especially if you do 3 coats instead of 2. Average coverage, average smoothness, average polish that I love with average affection! :D
ITA: un rosso-rosso che asciuga piuttosto in fretta e di un tono più scuro rispetto a come si vede in bottiglia, specialmente se preferite mettere tre mani piuttosto che soltanto due. Coprenza media, si uniforma mediamente (meglio aggiungere top coat glossy). Insomma, un buono smalto medio! :D

It came! It came!!! My baby finally came to me!!! *caress caress* No, you're not drunk, in the pic below there are TWO bottles, but I'm talking just about one, why? Because the second one will be splitted into 2 or 3 smaller bottles for my friends as gift or maybe a future giveaway, I don't know, yet. Numbers of my bottles are 53 and 71 (or 51 and 73? I don't remember XD) of 275 total pieces released. But this means not so much to me, actually: I bought this polish because it's so damned cute!!! *caress caress* I was decided to wait for Clairvoyant (the identical polish on the permanent collection) but I was online exactly when Cult Nails posted on twitter the beginning of the limited sale, and I had received money on my rechargeable credit card right the evening before, so... Why not? *caress caress*

*DROOL* The a-m-a-z-i-n-g Galaxy Collection from the Korean brand Tony Moly. *DROOL AGAIN* My cousin wanted the purple and the grey/glittermulticolor ones, so I made an order for her, adding 3 more polishes for me: the green, the purple again and the copper.  *DROOL EVERYONE* They are a bit expensive, but I really needed for a gift to myself that week. Really.

- Tony Moly - GT05 - Jupiter - few medium round duochrome glitters that go from turquoise to green and tons of purple and orange microglitters in a dark base

- Tony Moly - GT02 - Earth - a lot of colours (especially red and blue) for these microglitters in a dark grey base
Are they fabulous as they look like in the pics? Shit, yes! They has just 2 weak points: the smell and the roughness on the surface when dry, so wear a mask and be generous with your top coat, then the world will smile at you again.

I'm a big fan of [b]basic polishes, because they are cheap, I can find them on Schlecker stores (there are 6 or 7 of these drugstores in a 5 kilometers radius from my place), they are pretty, small, few are not bad and few are amazing, so I buy one of them with the change I have in my pocket anytime I go there for my regular shopping for my house, aaaaaand... You should to know it: I'm collecting a consistent ammount of bottles and other tools for my next giveaway. For now there are: one bottle of remover, one box of pads remover, 2 files, stickers, top coat fast dry, and a dozen of nail polishes... I really hope you'll like the price! *^__^*

Julep-bottle-style for these classic but still lovely fall colors. €1 for 9 ml each. Medium quality.

EARTH LIFE STYLE lim. ed. - Ref. 5663 - 01 - Black Earth + 02 - Red Earth + 03 - Green Earth
€1,50 each and AMAZING quality: just one coat and great application! This collection is perfection, a lot better than other famous and prestigious high-level brands. A friend of mine pointed up to me that this collection is probably inspired/copied from Chanel - Les Khakis, but... Actually... I think this is better than Chanel LE, and, no, I'm not paid from anyone to say it, and, no, I'm sure about what I'm talking about, and I believe in it. Totally. Long life to [b]basic. If you can find these collection, make a favour to yourself and buy all of them, I'll take the responsability for this advice, but I'm sure you won't do a bad purchase!

CUSTOMIZED LIP PALETTES!

When a friend of mine went to USA for a trip, I asked to her for 2 lip palettes, but it happened a little chain of misfortunes, and one of them came damaged (2 glosses were all around) and the other was simply a mistake and CherryCulture sent the fair of the pink instead of cool browns (thank you Cherry Culture! Ti venisse uno scagotto! XD). Soooo... I customized them! Yay!
How to do this? A candle. A knife. A spoon. Paper towel as if were raining. Steady hand (if it's possible). Patience. And search on youtube words "lip palette customize how to" or "lip palette diy" or something like this. Good luck! ;D

- SONIA KASHUK - Lip Gloss Quad - Natural Nudes *customized 2 of 4*

On the right you can see the original Kashuk shades; on the left there are 2 lipsticks of mine, that perfectly match with the glosses. I made this palette to carry it around with me.

- L.A. GIRL - Lip Palette - Fall in Love *customized 4of 6*

Pink is my kryptonite, so I thrown away 4 glosses of 6 and I preferred to dissolve 4 of my other lipsticks: a [b]basic 5511-23, the Kiko Mat Lipstick 209 mauve beige, then the Kiko Smart Lipstick 13 marrone cappuccino, and my lovely Shiseido Perfect Rouge in RD613 Mystery. Last 2 shades were already in the palette. This palette will stay at home, because the dust can go easily inside. P.S. very good brush included!

FREE TALK
Last 2 weeks were not so good for me, because my health problems have had a relapse, and I don't feel so good, so I had to rest and stay to home. No panic, my therapy is going well, and I should expect few fallout, yet, but they less painful and last for less than before, so I have to be glad for this, even I'm a little' disconsolated because I was hoping to finally find a job again within 2 months, and I have to wait a bit more. On the other hand I have seen many great movies during my rest.
EDDIE REDMAYNE MOVIES
First of all, I've seen few movies with one of my favorite actors: Eddie Redmayne. Oh, Eddie. Oh, oh, oh, Eddie. He's still pretty young but he has talent... No no, let's rewind: talent is just for lucky people who has a gift but doesn't know what to do with it, necessarily: Eddie has talent but he absolutely knows what he's doing, this is rare, even for the most of "great" actors we usually adore and we usually overestimate. But I'm not good to explain myself properly when I'm talking about things I appreciate in a complex way, so... In my macaronic English I can say that this guy can use his talent with great awareness and he's damned good about choosing scripts, so... What the hell, let's go on: this is what I've seen this week:
- LIKE MINDS: a thriller with an amazing (as always)  Toni Collette, and Tom Sturridge, too. Disturbing but not as much disturbing as the director could have if he wanted. Great choice, director. I can't say it better.
- ELIZABETH - THE GOLDEN AGE: I think I was the last person in the world who had not seen this movie, yet, sorry. Aestethically perfect, in a good way, even not so historically realistic in my humble opinion. Also too luxurious, in my humble opinion again.
- THE YELLOW HANDKERCHIEF: an indie on-the-road movie with William Hurt and Kristen Stewart (this is the first time I see her acting). A simple story but told in a delicate prospective. Step by step, without the need to overload facts. Appreciated a lot. Very good movie.
- POWDER BLUE: what a cast!!! Ray Liotta, Forest Whitaker, Eddie (of course) and Jessica Biel, even Lisa Kudrow. A drama with 4 stories of 4 people so different to each other, so desperate in a so different way. This movie reminds me to Wong Kar Wai style when he filmed slices of lives as Chung King Express. Another great movie I advice, my favorite from what I've seen with Eddie until now.
- GLORIOUS 39: another thriller based on Keyes family during the Second World War, a very traditional British house and their adopted child Anne, called Glorious from his "brother". Another great motion picture.
Eddie has acted in other production for theatre and tv, of course, maybe I'll speak a bit again in the future about what I've already seen in the past, if you glad. :)
MISFITS 3rd SEASON
Just a few words for who already know this British grotesque tv series: Misfits first season was a big surprise for me, something totally new; the second one was still very valuable, then... The thrauma. Robert Sheehan leaves the series to filming 2/3 movies, and Nathan Young with him, of course. Big big thrauma. But, I made a deep breath and I tried to think that a great series is not based only on one single great thing, otherwise it isn't a real great series. So, what I'm thinking about the 3rd series? Misfits is still a good series, but no more great. I think they did a mistake, a terrible mistake: try to introduct a character similar to Nathan, but, come on, how it's possible to replace someone like Nathan??? NO WAY! They would have had to create a totally different chara, to avoid comparisons. Because, let's be honest: comparisons with Nathan is lost in the beginning. This is my opinion.

[b]basic - Desierto Seco

Another [b]basic post! This one, shame on me, is quite impossible to find, so I think reviewing this polish makes me a bitch... I'll accept it, but I have to, sorry! ;P
First of all, a small introductory overview of this brand (again, but I have a lot of new followers, so I think it's better saying it one more time): [b]basic is the official makeup line of Schlecker drugstores. You can find this chain of stores in Germany, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Czech Republic. These makeups are veeeeery cheap for European standards and, for this reason, they are a lot underrated, maybe because they seem cheap in a bad way? I don't know, but is a fact [b]basic is inexplicably unknown, even in the polish blogger circuit. Why? They are so cheap (0,99 euro cents for 5 ml and 1,29 euro cents for 8 ml), and the color range is small but interesting and the quality is more than acceptable sometimes, and amazing some other times.
I'm going to keep on reviewing all my [b]basic polishes, and my next giveaway will have only [b]basic products as price to promote this brand, since I think it's wonderful, especially for European polishers that have to spend a lot of money more than American ladies to buy their pressssciouses. ç__ç

● [B] BASIC - LE SEVILLA - 01 DESIERTO SECO
I love browns and this one is not an exception for me. I already own several bronzed browns, but this shade is something different from the others. It's a color with a grey tone when it's in the shade or undirect light, like a rock of the desert; but it brings out its yellowish face under the sun or direct artificial light, with an embarassing amount of antique gold, olive green and dark red micro-sparkle parts.
Application is very good (but don't be shy with number of coats: be brave and the polish will award you! è_é/), but duration a bit less.

Kiko - 346 Verdone Chiaro + Kiko - 228 Trasparente Microglitter + [b]basic 26

A simple layering mani and nothing more to say, since I'm in a pretty bad mood these days. 

● KIKO - 346 VERDONE CHIARO

This is one of those shades very hard to describe and catch with camera: it's mainly an army green, but it's greener on sunlight (second image) and more grey/blue under artificial light (first pic). Very creamy at the first coat, a bit streaky at the second one, for this reason I think I'll try to apply this polish with just one generous coat in the future. Long lasting. I think it's very close to IsaDora - combat khaki, they are almost dupes to my eyes. :)
● KIKO - 228 SPARKLE TOUCH TRASPARENTE MICROGLITTER
A friend of mine gave me this top coat as a gift. It seems anonymous at first sight, because it has a subtle silver/white microglitter, almost imperceptible. It's wrong. It's delicate and discreet, but classy if you mix it with right colors like this one. Really happy about this gift, thank you Tammy! ♥
● [B] BASIC - 26
Another top coat effect I like very much. Golden round micro-micro-microglitter in a smooth clear base that have no need for more shiny top coats. Adviced!

[b]basic - 36 + stickers

I wrote I was in hiatus because my nails are all broken and super short, but I was forgetting that I had 2 more august swatches to post. My bad! ^__^;

The first one is another Schlecker purchase. I usually go there for my cat's sand and the Coke (don't say nothing more, please ROTFL) and few other things with very good prices, buuuut actually I go there for the [b]basic display *evil grin*. I bought this one thinking it was another creamy teal, so I wore it during my bath, just for fun, just for try it, just for no reason... Then... I couldn't remove it for the next 4 days, too beautiful!!! BUY IT! BUY IT! 99 euro cents!

● [B] BASIC - 36

First of all: do you see a thin yellow line on the edges of nails? My camera couldn't catch properly the color of this polish, so I did a bit of photoshop but I was too sleepy to fix the borders, sorry. Anyway, this is the real shade of this polish. It's a creamy teal close to a lot of other creamy teals, but this is cheaper and has a good formula, it's very shiny and long lasting. I think it's a big deal! Mr. [b]basic, whoever you are, wherever you are, thank you with all my wallet!

● STICKERS

I bought these decals from a british eBayer: dowryqueen. They have stickers and other nail stuff, and you can find a lot of peculiar designs.

[b]basic - LE Juicy Fruity 02 Kiwi + Kiko - 228 Trasparente Microglitter + stickers

When I go to Schlecker stores, I always keep an eye on [b]basic display: polishes costs from 0,99 to 1,49 euros, so I buy one of them any time I go there, I'm weak...

● [B] BASIC - LE JUICY FRUITY -  02 KIWI

I find this brand at Schlecker drugstores, and I love it: it's cheap but formulation of their polishes are often surprising. This one is from a limited edition, the Juicy Fruity, and it was sold as mini bottles of 5ml for 99 cents of euros. Yummy, ahn? ;D Application was streaky at the beginning, but the final result is very good: shiny and gummy but totally opaque. You only need to have patience to levelling with 3 generous coats. It dries fast, so a top coat for quick drying will solve the "problem quantity" completely. Ah! Long last!

● KIKO - SPARKLE TOUCH - 228 TRASPARENTE MICROGLITTER  

A friend of mine gave me this top coat as a gift. It seems anonymous at first sight, because it has a subtle silver/white microglitter, almost imperceptible. It's wrong. It's delicate and discreet, but classy if you mix it with right colors like this one. Really happy about this gift, thank you Tammy! ♥

I always find this brand Schlecker drugstores, but I can't find an official site, I can't find a catalog of collections, I can't even find the number on bottles!!! By the way, I love this cheap brand and I love this nude beige/taupe/nude shade. A lot! I guess this color is pretty close to OPI - San Tan-tonio.

Nail Art: Harry Potter contest on Nailswatches

Last summer I have tried to join a nailart contest. Ok, I'm not so good, I am a real newbie of mani, but the contest was fun for me, since I love Harry Potter saga and the contest was dedicated to it!

The blogger who launched idea was Nailswatches, an amazing dutch blogger!

I was very excited for this contest and I had a lot of ideas, but my poor skills limited me... One day finally the trick to increasing quality: STICKERS! Tricks are good, but they have to be original and selfmade for a contest, I think, sooooo I made stickers by myself. The result is a bit creepy, but I'm pretty proud anyway: it took me a long time, but it was funny too, and... Incredible... I won! :D

● POLISHES

I choose the colors of every single house of Hogwarts for every single finger, more a second lighter and glittery/frosty color to brightening: green and silver for Slytherin, burgundy and gold for Gryffindor, blue and silver for Ravenclaw, and black and gold for Hufflepuff. Pinkie wears the 4 colors of Hogwarts with a black background.

● STICKERS

Decals are the 4 "shields" of the 4 houses. They are printed on adhesive paper in high quality, but the camera catches everything more unfocused than the real ones. Than I cut them and press on the nails. Simple!

● BRUSHES & ACCESSORIES

I don't know technical names for accessories, but the first photo shows you everything. I used angolar brush for tips, the tiny one for foil stripes and the round brush for clean up. Everything else is easy to imagine what is served for. :P

Pupa - 104 + [b] basic - 06 + stickers + french

I have just one thing to say this time: I LOVE THESE DECALS. Really.

This polish again! My favorite nude polish, but I'm searching for a dupe, because I would a bottle bigger than 5 ml ;P

● [B] BASIC - 06 

This brand is sold on Shlecker or A&S stores. This polish arrives in a mini bottle of 5 ml for 0,99 euro. This shade is a frosty teal with more green tones than blue into it. The formula is opaque in only one coat and the liquid that remains in the bottle is very fluid also when it's finishing. Sometimes the most unlikely enamels can make big surprises! :D

● STICKERS

Oh! The love! The perfection! I bought them from chez-delaney, but I'm pretty sure they are sold out and I couldn't find them again from other shops. I'm an orphan from them and I have no enough courage to use the last ones I already have. ç__ç
