ENG: I'm pleased to present you a new collaboration with my polish buddies: this one is
dedicated to discontinued nail polishes, and it will be posted
montlhy. The idea comes from a very lazy assumption: non-pro bloggers like me very rarely buy a whole collection, and very rarely are able to swatch it and post it while they is still in stores. More, there are a lot of old stuff that is untried or unswatched or unphotographed. This monthly "date" can be a good choice to enjoy all of them again or for the first time. In this first post I've swatched two old
Trend Editions by Essence: 3 shades from
Snow White (June/July 2012, I also own Happy, I've posted it
here), and 2 from
Vampire's Love (November 2011).
ITA: sono felicizzima di presentarvi una nuova collaborazione con le mie smaltamiche: sarà
dedicata agli smalti "discontinued", ovvero quelli ormai irreperibili per svariati motivi, e sarà un
appuntamento mensile. L'idea nasce da un presupposto: le blogger fancazziste e molto poco "pro", come me, comprano molto raramente un'intera collezione, e ancor più raramente riescono a swatcharla in tempo finchè è ancora reperibile nei negozi. Per non parlare delle caterve di smalti vecchi ma ancora inutilizzati, oppure usati ma non fotografati, e quindi ecco la scusa per goderseli di nuovo o per la prima volta. ESSENCE - SNOW WHITE - 07 BASHFUL
ENG: there's no much to say about this polish than the picture below can't show off about color and finish. Application, duration et cetera were more than good with no need of more words. Very happy to own it! ;D
ITA: non c'è molto da dire su questo smalto: sia il colore che il finish si capiscono benissimo già in fotografia, senza bisogno di altre informazioni. Applicazione, durata e tutto l'ambaradàn sono risultati più che buoni e, anche qui, non c'è bisogno di dire oltre! Contentissima di averlo! ;D
ESSENCE - SNOW WHITE - 08 DOPEY
ENG: this one got me a few nuisances, unlike its friend above... Color and finish are beautiful, as you can see in the photo, but application was a bit problematic: formula is not well pigmented, so, coat after coat, the result was a bit... Fat. By the way, it's still a cute shade!
ITA: questo qui, invece, mi ha dato qualche rogna in più rispetto al suo amichetto qui sopra... Colore e finish sono bellissimi, come potete vedere nella foto, l'applicazione un po' meno, perchè non è uno smalto pigmentatissimo e, per ottenere una coprenza totale, si è un po' inciccionito. Vabbeh, è carino lo stesso!
ESSENCE - SNOW WHITE - 05 SNEEZY
ENG: this is a great hazelnut shade with a bit of small silver glitters, but formulation is not as great as its look: the polish is quite watery, so you need of 2 or even 3 coats of color, paying attention they are thin and completely dry, to avoid of dragging the color with the brush. The application is very precise, in return.
ITA: il colore è un gran bel nocciola con una spruzzatina di piccoli glitter argentati opachi, ma la formulazione non è altrettanto carina: la consistenza dello smalto è alquanto acquosa e si necessita di 2 o anche 3 mani di colore, facendo attenzione che siano sottili e che quella precedente sia completamente asciutta, onde evitare di spaciugare tutto. In compenso l'applicazione è molto precisa.
ESSENCE - VAMPIRE'S LOVE - 01 GOLD OLD BUFFY
ENG: here we are with a polish that's beautiful in the bottle, but a bit disappointing on nails. Why? It's not so ugly, and it has a decent, precise and easy application, but the final look is dull. Antique gold microflakies don't shine and don't have any reflection, not even after a generous amount of top coat... It's not a bad nail polish, just I hoped this was more... "Living", that's all.
ITA: ecco uno smalto che su carta è splendido, ma poi, a conti fatti, mi ha un pochettino delusa. Perchè? Non è che sia brutto, anzi, si applica anche discretamente bene, con facilità e precisione, però l'aspetto finale è un po'... Come dire... Spento... I microflakies oro antico non hanno brillantezza nè riflettono la luce in alcun modo, neanche dopo un generoso strato di top coat... Speravo fosse un po' più "vivo", tutto qui.
ESSENCE - VAMPIRE'S LOVE - 04 THE DAWN IS BROKEN
ENG: this is the polish I call "top for kitchens", because it looks like a granite plate, and I love it for that *__* Unluckily, the opaque charchoal and bright silver microglitters aren't so noticeable on nails... Application is very precise, thanks to the brush, but formula is just a bit thick, so it's better to do 3 thin coats and waiting for complete dry before applying another one. By the way, you have no need to wait for long time, since this polish is a very fast drying one. The finish is slightly satin and sandblasted, exactly as a top for kitchens, but in this manicure I decided for a glossy final touch. Nice, don't you think? :)
ITA: ecco lo smalto che io chiamo "il piano da cucina in granito" *__* Lo adoro, anche se, purtroppo, i microglitterini antracite opachi e quelli argento brillanti, su unghie, si vedono proprio poco... L'applicazione è molto precisa, grazie ad un pennellino favoloso, ma la consistenza è leggermente densa, quindi sarebbe meglio fare 3 strati sottili, aspettando che quello precedente sia ben asciutto, ma non c'è tanto da aspettare, è uno smalto che asciuga molto velocemente. Il finish finale è leggermente satinato e un po' sabbiato, proprio come un piano da cucina, ma io qui l'ho voluto glossare per lisciarlo. Bello lui, vero? :)
