ENG: I received this mini palette in a swap with Alice from the Stregalice blog, and it's a lot of time since I started to think to do a post about it, but I felt unconfident in writing something in-depth and with some sense, so I really hope everything is gonna be alright! ;P
ITA: è da tanto che volevo fare una recensione su questa mini palette, che ho ricevuto tramite uno swap con Alice del blog Stregalice, ma non mi sentivo mai all'altezza di poterci scrivere qualcosa di davvero approfondito e sensato, ma è ora di fare il salto, incrocio l'incrociabile e vado! ;P
ENG: this is a very mini palette, dimensions are only 5,5 cm x 10,5 xm x 1,2 cm. At the opposite, the quantity of product is not mini, since each eyeshadow is 1,3 gr for a total amount of 7,8 gr. So this is a very portable palette, but not disposable for sure.
- PACKAGING: I love it: it's compact; lid closes well with no anti hygienic air or dust or liquid infiltrations; made with skidproof rubbery plastic that get dirty not so easily as I was afraid of; and has a mirror as big as the lid. Just a big lack: I think a brush slot was needful for a pocket-size item like this.
- COLOURS: I read some bad critics about the range of colours, because there aren't warm shades and there are only two dark ones, but, from my point of view, this is a very good thing, not a bad one. Predominance of cold nuances allows to you to realize actual nude makeups for any skin-types more than warm colors, plus you can use the palette as a multi purpose item: as base, or to complete a colored makeup, or for blending more peculiar colours, since cold shades fit better than warms to different colours. About majority of light shades I guess that a dark brown and a black are more than enough: with these two ones you can give deepness to the edges, or as eyeliner, or for smokey eyes, or to blend other colours... I think it's better having more light pots than dark, since they always end as first...
1 - Venus is a white highlighter with a hint of champagne, slightly frost, the only no matte shade in the palette
2 - Foky is a very light nude with a vanilla base
3 - W.O.S. is a very light nude with a rosey base
4 - Naked2 is a light taupe in a very cold shade, perfect for blending other colours
5 - Faint is a medium-dark cold brown useful to shade or for your eyebrows
6 - Crave is an actual black extremely black nothing but black :P
- QUALITY: eyeshadows are a bit' powdery when you get them with a brush, but this ain't gonna happen if you get them with your finger; on the other hand, they won't fall out in the application. They are all very pigmented, but texture is superfine only for dark shades, since light ones don't fill completely the skin folds, especially Foxy and W.O.S., that will be a bit' chalky if you don't moisturize properly your skin before. You can easily settle this issue using them wet. Duration is not so great without a base, but with a primer they will last all day long with no fading.
- CONCLUSIONS: in my humble opinion these eyeshadows aren't the best eyeshadows I've ever tried before about formulation, but, as I've written, pros and cons are well balanced and, in the end, I think they still are above the average. In the end I think they are more than ok! ^__^/
ITA: questa è una palette molto mini nelle dimensioni, misura infatti solo 5,5 cm x 10,5 cm x 1,2 cm, ma la quantità di prodotto, al contrario, non è poi così irrisoria, avendo ogni cialda 1,3 gr di ombretto per un totale di ben 7,8 gr. Quindi tascabilissima, ma non certo usa-e-getta.
- PACKAGING: lo trovo adorabile: compatto; si chiude bene senza anti-igieniche infiltrazioni; fatto di plastica gommosa antiscivolo, ma non si sporca così tanto come temevo; e specchietto grande quanto tutto il coperchio apribile. Unico grosso neo, lo spazio per un pennellino ce lo potevano anche lasciare: un prodotto tascabile deve dare la possibilità di utilizzarlo ovunque senza aggiungere altro in borsa, come minimo.
- COLORI: sul range di colori ho letto critiche relative al fatto che sia una palette che risente dell'assenza di tinte calde e con solo due tonalità scure, ma, dal mio punto di vista, non lo vedo affatto come un problema, al contrario. La prevalenza di tinte fredde, innanzitutto, permette un trucco veramente nude su più fototipi, cosa non del tutto possibile altrimenti, inoltre dà la possibilità di usare la palette sia come base per trucchi elaborati, sia come complemento a makeup colorati per sfumare le nuances più vivaci, potendoli abbinare a colori molto diversi più facilmente di quanto riescano a fare le tinte calde. Per quanto riguarda, invece, la netta maggioranza di tonalità chiare, penso che un marrone scuro e un nero siano più che sufficienti per dare profondità ritoccando il contorno occhi o come eyeliner; realizzare trucchi smokey e sfumare gli altri colori... Penso sia molto più importante avere tante tinte chiare che scure, del resto sono sempre le prime a finire, diciamoci la verità...
1 - Venus è un illuminante bianco con riflessi champagne, leggermente frost, l'unico non mat della palette
2 - Foky è un nude chiarissimo a base color vaniglia
3 - W.O.S. è un nude chiarissimo a base rosata
4 - Naked2 è un taupe chiaro a base molto fredda adatto a sfumare
5 - Faint è un marrone freddo medio-scuro per ombreggiare o per le sopracciglia
6 - Crave è un nero nerissimo
- QUALITA': gli ombretti sono un po' polverosi se prelevati dalla cialda con il pennello, cosa che non succede se ci pucciate il dito, ma non producono fall-out durante l'applicazione, in compenso. Sono tutti molto pigmentati, ma la texture è finissima solo per le tinte scure, mentre i più chiari, soprattutto Foxy e W.O.S., non riempiono totalmente le pieghette della pelle da asciutti, risultando lievemente gessosi se la pelle non viene prima idratata adeguatamente; si può rimediare usandoli bagnati. Non ho riscontrato una durata eccellente senza primer, ma con una base occhi durano tutto il giorno senza il minimo cedimento.
- CONCLUSIONI: a mio modestissimo parere non sono i migliori ombretti provati in vita mia ma, come scritto sopra, hanno pro e contro che si bilanciano, risultando alla fine un prodotto ben aldisopra della media. Quindi per me, in conclusione, è un sì, ma che ve lo dico a fà? :P
